The land for the Annunciation Catholic Church in Houston, Texas cost a mere $2,000 back in 1866 – what a bargain!!!  It’s a stunning catholic church built in 1869 and is the mother of all the other Catholic Parishes in Houston, Texas and was the second Catholic church built in Houston.  The first Mass held there was on November 1, 1870 (All Saint’s Day). It also holds a Pilcher Opus 1206 church organ that was installed in 1924 that possesses 1,577 tin pipes. In 1969 the church as recorded as a historical Texas landmark. Check the link for service times.  It’s just absolutely gorgeous! As of this post the church is 148 years old and still running strong! While I am not Catholic, it sure it beautiful!!!
