Terms of Endearment was filmed here! This one’s for vinnieh.wordpress.com

My fellow blogger friend, “Vinnieh” at “vinnieh – Movie reviews and anything else that comes to mind”ย made me think about getting photos for this post. ย He does lots of cool movie reviews, so naturally he came to mind – go check out his blog too for interesting reads! ย Both Shirley MacLaine and Debra Winger were nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actress in the film, Terms of Endearment but Shirley took home the prize for the 1983 film. I thought both ladies were great! Some of the movie scenes were shot right here in Houston! (See below).

I can imagine myself watching Shirley and Jack running between each other’s homes… “just like in the movies” ๐Ÿ™‚

And…just because we are “in the area” here are some of the other nearby homes….I wouldn’t mind living in any of them if only I could pay their electricity bill!!!…much less the mortgage!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ !!!

I can totally see myself sipping my morning coffee on the upper patio here! (Dream on me!!)

Can you imagine the water bill or light bill living here!!! Even if the house was free I couldn’t make the regular bills!!!
I’ll take the house AND the car please!
These people even have a darn sculpture in their yard!!!
I couldn’t fit the whole house in the shot!

Nice to dream ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for visiting and playing rich folks with me ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. It is nice to dream of beautiful homes and beautiful neighbourhoods.
Living on the other side of the Atlantic mention of Houston always brings to mind astronauts, Astrodomes and Oilers. Thanks for giving me a different perspective!

    1. Thanks for taking time out of your day to visit-it’s very appreciated! Yes, Houston is very diverse and I find little oddities and treasures all the time! Love you mentioned the Houston Oilers too ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. It is a nice dream!
Even I could do anything to live in a house like that but then that’s a far fetched dream!
Even in my area there are a couple of beautiful house that I’d die to live in but then as you said, for now we can just dream of it.

  3. Yes i can definitely see my self in one… though they are too big for my small family (me and my daughter), i would need to use GPS otherwise i would get lost in the house๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜ƒ.

  4. One of the best movies that I have ever seen! I can’t believe that I did not know that they were filming in Houston! Are these fabulous homes in River Oaks? I really think that I was meant to live in the next to the last house…the white one with the statue! The house is just my style…or rather…the style that I would like to have! I would not choose that particular statue! There is a new house around the corner from us that is just beautiful and very eclectic…with a wind movement art piece to match the style! I am crazy about the house and the art piece! Obviously, I enjoyed this post!

      1. Sure! Sure! All we need would be a huge amount of money! I cannot get over that white house with that sculpture in your post! We could have lights on in maybe three rooms, maybe just two! The house in our neighborhood is quite a different style from the Houston house, but I just love it. It took the builder about 1 1/2 years to finish it…custom house. They tore down a “normal & pretty” house to build it. And I want the wind mover sculpture or whatever it is. I have a picture…naturally! I shudder to think what it would sell for and I have to drive past it everyday…just around the block. Just not right for me to have to drive by that cool house constantly!
