Stephen F. Austin State Park in San Felipe, Texas (short drive from Houston)

Today we are off to see Stephen F. Austin State Park – less than an 30-45 minute drive from Houston and a great place to camp!

While I didn’t go camping on this outting, I included some photos from when my daughter and I and our pups went camping in 2015. We had a blast camping there and did some geocaching there too. ย Let me tell ya…finding a micro-geocache is hard (full credit to my daughter finding that one!)!!! The trails there are well-kept and plenty of birds can be spotted here too…especially my red cardinals ๐Ÿ™‚ย

The park offers, walk in camping – primativeย sites, tent campsites, full RV sites, screen shelters, ADA mini-cabin, group camping areas, screened dining hall, primative fishing with a short hike to the Brazos River banks and plenty or rest and relaxation! For those of you that golf, there is an 18-hole course super close by too. Ranger Programs are also available at the park – just check their website ๐Ÿ™‚ย

I was lucky enough to get a Texas State Park pass as a gift from my wonderful daughter and hubby so now I can beeboop in any of our parks for the year ๐Ÿ™‚ – love it!!! Thanks – it’s a great deal if you like visiting even for the day!ย

Thanks for visiting ๐Ÿ™‚ย
